The Swinden Group Advises Clients and Travelers of a High Impact Winter Storm

Jan. 26, 2009 - PRLog -- Evergreen, CO, – The Swinden Group’s Weather Risk Management services is advising their clients of the possibility of a winter storm impacting the eastern half of the US from Texas up through the Northeast.  A complex storm system with arctic air coming from the north, warm Gulf moisture rising from the south and weather disturbances coming out of the west will create the environment for a significant winter storm with sleet, snow, freezing rain, ice accumulation. This has the potential of being a life-threatening and business impacting storm.

The main threat will be widespread freezing rain and icing event from Oklahoma through Virginia.  Ice accumulation of up to an inch is possible in some locations. Hazardous and/or dangerous driving conditions, widespread air travel delays, road and highway closures, and delayed / cancelled schools for Tuesday and Wednesday may exist.

As of Monday morning, The National Weather Service has issued a number of Winter and Ice Storm Warnings and Watches for a swath from Texas up through New York, and we are advising our clients to be prepared for the worst case scenario.”
