David Pearl Gives Away £50,000 On Channel 4’s Secret Millionaire.

Dec. 30, 2008 - PRLog -- Property tycoon David Pearl went undercover recently as part of the second series of channel 4’s Secret Millionaire.  Joint owner of Pearl & Coutts residential and commercial London Lettings agency, David Pearl took a break from the property world in order to take part in the show.  Usually busy heading up North London-based property company Structadene which controls more than 13,000 properties, for ten days he went completely covert changing his entire identity and lifestyle for the show.  

The Secret Millionaire episode which was aired on the 5th December showed Mr Pearl working undercover as a NHS volunteer at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.  His new duties included feeding the critically ill and helping with the rehabilitation of stroke patients.  To help keep his cover under wraps he lived in budget accommodation, on a state pension and travelled to work each day on public transport.  This was a far cry from his usual work in the residential and commercial lettings industry where he is one of the UK’s most successful property entrepreneurs.  

Mr Pearl was extremely pleased to have taken part in the show and found the whole experience very worthwhile and humbling.  Speaking out about his experience after the show he stated, “It was really emotional.  I met such wonderful people doing amazing things”.

At the end of the ten days David chose who he would like to give his money to and divided up £50,000 between five worthy cases.  Now back to his normal lifestyle Mr Pearl talks fondly of the show that has left him with some lifetime memories and was a real eye-opener, “I was completely enthralled by the experience.  It was so different to the property world and doing deals.  It makes you feel very humble.”
