Word Has It Haiti Orphanage Non Profit Child Charity Is Creating a Safe Water Initiative

Dec. 29, 2008 - PRLog -- Non Profit Child Charity World Harvest Missions Outreach and Haiti Orphanage New Life Childrens Home are working to supply portable water purification to as many Haitian families as possible before the 2009 hurricane season starting June 1st.

There is current unrest in Haiti because of the water and food shortages from the last hurricane season. Back to back devastating floods polluted all the fresh water and wiped out all food crops so aid is needed now. Entry and distribution of supplies is very dangerous and time consuming, so we must act swiftly.

Bringing safe drinking water to the people of Haiti can be accomplished for approximately 7 pennies per person a day, which is basically spare change.

Thousands of people died in Haiti this year from water borne diseases which could have been avoided or greatly reduced.  Water borne disease is the largest killer of children in undeveloped nations without a clean source of drinking water.

Because of non profit child charity World Harvest Missions Outreach 35 years of bringing food and medical aid to Haiti they are uniquely positioned to undertake this monumental project in 2009.  World Harvest Missions Outreach has a vast network of volunteers and health care professionals established within many remote villages from past Christian mission trips to Haiti. Once the hurricane season begins, travel within Haiti is very difficult because of the storms and flash floods, so this undertaking must begin immediately.  All efforts to bring clean water to the people of Haiti must begin now and continue until the weather prohibits travel.  How many people can be saved in the next few months?
