SA1 sees Wales Rally GB return

Nov. 27, 2008 - PRLog -- The Wales Rally GB will take place from Thursday 4 December to Sunday 7 December and spectators will have the opportunity at the Swansea Service Park to see how the teams prepare for the final stages of the competition as the site comes alive with activity and excitement.

Rally enthusiasts can enjoy an action packed four days as the Service Park transforms into a bustling service area for the world champion teams and their drivers. Included in the line up will be the recently crowned FIA World Rally Champion Sébastien Loeb and six-times MotoGP Champion Valentino Rossi, who will be carrying the Pudsey logo in support of Children in Need.

The rally cars will return to the Service Park after each stage, a total of seven times over the four days and fans can watch as the teams change gearboxes, wheels and tyres in a frenzy of motor mayhem.

There will also be plenty of entertainment throughout the day with trade stands, official Wales Rally GB merchandise, driver interviews, giant screens and a whole lot more!

On Friday night fans can also watch live entertainment including a Children In Need Auction, music from Blondied (a tribute to the well known pop icon), a sassy performance by the Fuel Girls and an explosive fireworks display.

Frances Jenkins, Swansea Council’s Strategic Manager for Tourism, Marketing and Events said, “We are pleased to see the Wales Rally GB return to Swansea this year as it is such an exciting and action packed occasion.”

“Spectators travel from all over the UK to stay in the City, which is fantastic for local tourism, particularly at this time of the year.  What’s great about the Swansea Service Park is that you don’t have to be a motor sports enthusiast to enjoy what’s on offer.”

Tickets for one day’s access to the service park are £5 for adults and kids can go for just a quid *. So bring the whole family along and experience this unique, adrenaline-fuelled event.
