Follow on Google News | Seeking to Eliminate and Eradicate AIDS in the Global WorldAIDS Awareness is Essential for people today
By: Executive Producer transmission in the United States continues to rise at an alarming rate. It continues to affect the lives of tens of thousands of people on a daily basis, cutting across all societal boundaries with an equal, devastating impact. Surprisingly, one of the fastest growing segments of the population today affected is that among women ages 18-24, with African American women particularly the hardest. Why is this important? As AIDS continues to spread in the US and around the world, there is no guarantee when, or if, a cure will be found. In fact, many people who are infected with HIV do not even realize they have the disease. This is why improving HIV/AIDS education is such and important issue, one that is often overlooked in the rush to find a medicinal cure. By educating the general population on transmission, symptoms, and tolerance for those affected, we can increase AIDS awareness in the Global society as a whole. Our belief is that proper awareness and education will help prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS. Our film, American Genocide seeks to educate people about the the powerful effects that AIDS can inflict on a person’s life. The purpose of the filmis to be engaging, informative, thought provoking and hopefully life saving. It will bring the plight of AIDS out of the background and into the mainstream, encouraging discussion and study. Through this docudrama will to weave several real-life stories together into a main plot, giving it an edge of reality to connect with those who are mostly affected by it. Our goal is to raise $3,000,000 for this film. This would include equipment for rental/use and purchase; staff; actors; and more. Our plan is to have this film be distributed freely or at a low cost to community, educational, and public agencies so that they can help combat the spread of HIV/AIDS. Accompanying the film will be a manual, detailing facts, myths, and other information concerning HIV/AIDS. We hope that this manual will be a reference tool to take home, fostering conversations that will help to change the mindsets and motivations of all who view the film. We are looking to start production at the end of February or early March. What year? 2006? Our goal is to have this film ready for distribution no later than the summer of 2009.
