PRLog -- Renee A. Gecsedi is the director of education, practice and research for New York State Nurses Association, the nation's oldest and largest state professional association for registered nurses and New York's largest union, solely dedicated to promoting the interests of RNs and their patients. Renee has been in this capacity since 2006 and is responsible for overseeing nursing research projects, education and curriculum, nursing health and practice, and for working with the state nursing department to develop and institute procedural regulations. Renee has more than two decades of experience in professional nursing and nursing education. Prior to joining NYSNA, she worked at both Albany Memorial Hospital and St. Peter’s Hospital in the Capitol Region as an oncology clinical nurse specialist. Renee also served as an oncology nursing project manager for the National Oncology Nursing Society and taught courses on chemotherapy and managing contracts for oncology nurses. Renee earned her BSN and master’s degree in nursing from Russell Sage College in Troy, N.Y. She is an esteemed member of the National Nursing Society and the American Society of Executives and maintains a professional affiliation with the American Nurses Association. At home in Latham, New York, Renee is active within the community, supports the American Cancer Society and enjoys her spare time by embroidering, exercising and traveling.
