The tutorial dance show not only shows viewers the steps to do the classic moves, Tweetie also blesses you with a bit of knowledge on the history of each dance. She and her crew will be schooling viewers on some of the most legendary hip hop dances from the 80’s including everyone’s favorite, ‘The Cabbage Patch’, to some you may have seen or done before but never knew where they came from like ‘The Alf’, which pays homage to everyone’s favorite furry alien on TV back in the day. About Tweetie Lenaya “Tweetie” Straker is a legendary street dancer who rose from forming dance crews at the age of 15 in her hometown of the Bronx, New York, to being one of the top dancers in the underground battles across the city, to worldwide recognition within the hip hop and dance scene. Tweetie has danced with this generation of pop’s greatest (N’SYNC, Fergie, Jay-Z, Destiny’s Child), featured in ad campaigns for Nike, Stride Gum, Budweiser, and iPod, and has been a featured guest on MTV, BET, “Live with Regis and Kelly”, VH1’s 2005 Hip Hop Honors, Good Morning America, and has was recently honored to be on the Oprah Winfrey Show as Oprah and Gail’s personal dance instructor. She also toured areas of the Middle East to perform for U.S. troops. Tweetie tours worldwide to perform and is sought after throughout Asia and Europe for her dance workshops for advanced hip hop dancers who crave the flavor only a true New York City street legend has.
