Assessment Tomorrow announces its second IT/ICT Seminar “on e-assessment and its impact on education and development in India” on 24th Oct 2008 at Calcutta Press Club, Kolkata, West Bengal in collaboration with NSHM

Oct. 17, 2008 - PRLog -- Assessment Tomorrow, UK, is delighted to announce its 2nd   International e-Assessment Education Seminar in West Bengal in collaboration with NSHM Management & Media Institution on ”E-Assessment and its impact on Education and Development" on 24th Oct 2008 at the Calcutta Press Club. The seminar will examine wider issues concerning the selection and implementation of e-assessment in an educational institution/organisation and the impact it can have on education and development. There will be focus on the background of e-assessment and how it can be used successfully at the college entry levels, the benefits of using e-assessment, costs and risks.

According to Mr Jeff Ross, Director, Assessment Tomorrow: “NSHM is a progressive educational institution and this e-assessment seminar will create awareness about the exciting and innovative approaches to otherwise costly or inflexible assessment of learners and students”.  Similarly, Mr Dhirendra, CEO, Eduquity, who is among the speakers for the seminar says that “education-industry interface is where the skills and knowledge gap lies and developing students for employability is truly a challenge which needs to be addresses readily”.

Assessment Tomorrow International conferences and seminars are already established as the leading event examining the practical aspects of implementing e-Assessment and Computer Based Testing and Assessment in education, training and professional development. This year’s event taking place for the second time in Eastern India is larger than ever and reflects the growing awareness in e-Assessment in industry and academia. The Indian Chapter of Assessment Tomorrow in West Bengal is focused on to bring experts and experienced practitioners from India and UK. They will share knowledge, best practice and experience of how to leverage the new tools and techniques of e-assessment to cost effectively and efficiently identify, evaluate and develop talent and potential. Mr Martyn Roads, Director, Assessment Tomorrow (UK) will be the guest speaker for the seminar and he will be speaking on alternate approaches to assessment using the technology. Martyn has been the co-author of QCAs Use of ICT in Assessment report to the DfES in 2002 and is currently working with QCA on a number of projects. Martyn is also Chair of Becta’s e-assessment advisory group.

The E-Assessment Education seminar will be inaugurated by Mr Kevin McCole, Acting Deputy High Commissioner, British Deputy High Commission, Kolkata at 10:0 0 AM on 24th Oct2008 at the Calcutta Press Club.
