TOPIC OF WORLD AFFAIRS FORUM’S FIRST FALL EVENT AT UCONN


Stamford, Connecticut – On September 24th, Karl E. Meyer and Shareen Blair Brysac, authors of Kingmakers – The Invention of the Modern Middle East, will kick off the fall World Affairs Forum
Series.  Kingmakers is the story of how the modern Middle East came to be, told through the lives of the Britons and Americans who helped shape it.  The authors aim to restore to life the colorful figures who for good or ill gave us the Middle East in which Americans are enmeshed today.

Karl E. Meyer is a former foreign correspondent and editorial writer for the New York Times and Washington Post.  He is also editor emeritus of the World Policy Journal.  Five-time Emmy Award winner, Shareen Brysac, is a member of the Director’s Guild of America, Writer’s Guild of America, Women in Film and New York University’s Biography Seminar.

The Forum event starts at 6:15 pm with networking and refreshments.  The lecture is from 6:45 to 8:00 pm.
