PRLog -- Edna Barolits, OAM, is the manager of regional development for the Northern Land Council, an organization that was established in 1973 to represent traditional Aboriginal landowners and Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory of Australia. The most important responsibility of the NLC is to ensure the landowners give their informed consent before the Land Council or Land Trust enters into any agreement or takes any action affecting their land. Edna joined the NLC in 1998, bringing a decade of experience in management of indigenous affairs. In her role as manager, she is responsible for supervising a staff of twenty-nine, land contract negotiations and providing support for ongoing ventures. Edna is well known and widely admired by both colleagues and those she represents, for her competence and professional demeanor. She credits her success to hard work and commitment, qualities that are equally evident in all of her undertakings. Edna is the recipient of the prestigious Medal of the Order of Australia, an order of chivalry established by Elizabeth II for the purpose of according recognition to Australian citizens for achievement or for meritorious service. Edna supports community programs and donates to the Breast Cancer Association. She is an avid reader of the Bulletin Financial Review whose hobbies include sewing and travel.
