July 15, 2008 - PRLog -- Doing E-learning has released its fourth e-learning podcast, "How to be an Effective Subject Matter Expert in E-learning", available now at www.doingelearning.com.

Doing E-learning is headed up by Keith Landsborough and Dominique Lowenthal, who have over 20 years' experience between them in technology assisted learning. They believe there is a need for a regular podcast for people in organisations wanting to benefit from e-learning.

"Being a Subject Matter Expert on an e-learning project can be like entering a dark tunnel – no idea what you’re getting into, or what may be on the other side. But we really want to make anyone who’s taking on the role of the SME feel comfortable, and enjoy the experience!" said Keith.

Keith and Dominique again provide a simple checklist to accompany the podcast that should help anyone taking on the SME role know what they need to ask and cover off. Breaking an e-learning project down into three simple stages, Doing E-learning provides guidance that ensures your SME asks the right questions and does the right things at the right time.

Dominique commented: "Once again, the topic lends itself to a checklist - one that will save not only the SME headaches, but the project manager too! The podcast is ideal for all organisations doing e-learning."

The 50 minute podcast’s supporting checklist, "How to be an Effective SME Checklist", should be used at each of three defined stages of a project. "This is a great asset to have – it covers the core points and helps you to be a truly effective SME," added Dominique.

Dominique concluded, "As ever, we'd love to hear back from people on the checklist so that we can add to it and build on it - and once we're happy we've got it as effective and as comprehensive as it needs to be, we'll release it into the public domain."

The Doing E-learning podcasts are released twice a month, providing information and guidelines that HR, Training, and Learning & Development professionals can act on today. Future suggestions for podcasts are welcomed by the Doing E-learning team.
