Screenwriter-Producer Lovelace Lee III Seeks Christian Investor Group to Finance Film GOD'S MONEY

GOD'S MONEY by screenwriter-producer Lovelace Lee III is a gospel script that presents a man who has chosen to live for Jesus. Lee seeks investors for what could be the hottest selling Christian Direct-to-DVD title of 2009.

July 10, 2008 - PRLog -- LOS ANGELES—Ten years ago, writer Lovelace Lee III was a Christian struggling to write action-adventure scripts because he thought it was the type of material he could sell to Hollywood. “I learned how to write screenplays and created a body of work,” Lee said. A brother-in-Christ asked me, “Why don’t you write a gospel script? The ones out there now don’t do anything to give God any glory.” It was true. And still is. Lee understood what he meant but was at the same time conflicted. Yes, he was a Christian but had never considered writing a gospel script. Why not? Maybe he figured it would just be too difficult to sell. Finding money to do any movie is hard enough. Lee wanted the wind at his back for a change.
“I told that brother that when the Lord God Almighty wants me to write a gospel script, He’ll give me one.” God spoke and Lee heard Him. Last October Lee and his family were sitting in the congregation of their church in Los Angeles. The offering was being taken up and Lee was uncomfortable with the way it was being handled. “And in an instant,” he said, “I knew the entire story for GOD’S MONEY.” Lee knew the script was a gift from God because all at once he had the beginning, middle and end and the lead characters, too. This was a story that gave God the glory. Lee was true to his promise of 10 years earlier. God Almighty had given him a gospel script to write and he was taking care of Kingdom Business: affairs that are connected to the building of God’s family of believers. GOD’S MONEY is the story of Prince DeRon Mulgrew a petty criminal that robs a church during the offering. After finding that he can’t even give the money away, he returns it to the church—only to get saved. The term “saved” to Christians means that a person has accepted Jesus and will miss spending eternity in hell.
“I’ve had the pleasure of writing 18 scripts,” Lee said. “Two of those with my brilliant writing partner Kevin Norwood. This experience was different. Writing GOD’S MONEY became his priority and Lee worked day and night. In just 18 days he had completed a first draft.
Lee came to Hollywood almost 25 years ago to do one thing—make movies. ”Trying to make movies is the absolute hardest thing I’ve ever attempted,” he said. “If the Lord says the same, I will make about a dozen great movies.” Still, Lee also sees the bigger picture.
“When I meet Jesus at the end of my life He won’t ask me about the movies I made,” Lee said. “I do believe an angel will say, “Lord, Lovelace is the man that wrote GOD’S MONEY and as a result of his obedience 4 million souls were added to the Kingdom.” Lee seeks a Heavenly reward—as well as the earthly blessing of a successful Direct-to-DVD film title that can be sold until Jesus Himself returns.
According to Lee everyone is not going to understand the mission of GOD’S MONEY. “This film is a soul-winning tool for a dying world,” Lee said. “I need money. I’m looking for a smart, Christian investment group looking to build the Kingdom—and grow their money. And I have an experienced producer ready to join the team.” Lee knows that many folks, who don’t know Jesus as Lord and Savior won’t ever set foot inside a church, listen to someone witness to them or read a Bible and see it as truth. “You can get everyone to watch a well made DVD,” he said. “GOD’S MONEY will be well made entertainment—with a soul-winning message,” Lee said. Lee has also prepared himself to make his directorial debut with GOD’S MONEY.
