*FIVE TIPS TO RATE AN ARTICLE*

(1) - A well-written article is one that you can read from beginning to end without becoming confused as to the authors point. If there were points that are unclear, then this would definitely lose a star or point in your average 5 point rating system.

(2) - A well-written article will be interesting, and keep the reader from becoming bored. If one only get halfway through the article before glazing over, then the article will lose a point as well.

(3) - Spelling and grammar errors are distracting and give the reader an excuse to discount your intelligence. Excessive typing errors or blatant grammar mistakes will take away from the meaning of your article and one would lower the rating a point for that.

(4) - If you can read an article quickly, then chances are it was written very well with no awkwardly placed words, or unwanted fluff. Litmus test is reading a 500 word article in 5 minutes or less. If it take 10 or 15 minutes to read 500 words, then the article is either too technical, or has too many errors to read smoothly. This is definitely a point loser.

(5) - A clever article will gain points back that the writer lost in other areas. A few chuckles, a genuine smile, or a good guffaw from the reader will give an extra point, or make ignore all of your other mistakes.
