June 16, 2008 - PRLog -- Baltimore, MD --- Sharan Nixon, the C.E.O and president of Baltimore’s Fashion Week, is pleased to have Susan G. Komen Foundation as one of the sponsors for the first ever Baltimore’s Fashion Week.

“I am just glad that the word will continue to spread regarding breast cancer.  As we all know breast cancer is the number one killer among women today and the more knowledge we can share about this disease the more people will be aware and will be more pro-active in minimizing it by self-breast check examination.  I am just honored to have them to help support this event,” says Nixon.

The Susan G. Komen Foundation is dedicated to fighting breast cancer and to educated women about breast cancer. Since 1982, Nancy G. Brinker has been using this foundation to launch a global breast cancer movement in the remembrance of her sister, Susan G. Komen. Activists as well as survivors of breast cancer are fighting to save lives, empowering people, and finding ways to find cures.  The non-profit organization of the Susan G. Komen Foundation is located in Towson, Maryland.

“I see a great connection between Susan G. Komen Foundation and the fashion industry. Baltimore’s Fashion Week is wonderful way to raise awareness and educate people about our cause,’ says Adam Bradford Van Bavel, Special Events Coordinator.
