May 29, 2008 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA - You can’t miss Baxter Humby.  He is very well spoken and has presence.

In the ring, he is an athlete of incredible strength, speed and flexibility.  Don’t blink, you may just miss the kick that landed his opponent on the floor in a knock out.

In the MuayThai world, he is known as the one-arm bandit because he has no right hand. It was amputated at birth, just below his elbow, after becoming entangled with the umbilical cord.

Gliding across the ring, Baxter dominates his opponents and remains aggressive and powerful from round one through to the last round.

When asked how he developed the attitude that has taken him to the top as World Super Welterweight Champion holding a number of different title belts including IKKC USA Kickboxing Champion, IMTC World Middleweight Champion and IKBA International Kickboxing Champion.  He credits his father for giving him the confidence to be better than average.  His father never failed to tell others, “Keep an eye on my son, he’s going to make it.  He’s going to be a somebody”.  His father has passed away, but his family support remains strong.  Baxter is engaged to be married.  He was told that this announcement will break a lot of hearts but he says that he has a wonderful girl and although he lives a life where MuayThai is central, his family remains his number one priority.

So, what is MuayThai?  This prestigious national sport of Thailand with a history dating back to 1560 A.D. has an international fan base that span across the world.  MuayThai literally means Thai Boxing and is known as The Art of the Eight Limbs.  This style of boxing incorporates the use of elbows, and knees and allows the fighter to execute strikes using eight points of contact.

Baxter worked hard to earn his title at the very top of the MuayThai sport.  He was born in Canada.  His interest in sports led him to take up running at age 11 and martial arts at 17. He ran for the Canadian National Track Team in Barcelona in 1992 and in Berlin in 1994.  Baxter initially trained in Tae Kwon Do and as a result, his fight style incorporates a lot of this initial training.  Baxter is legendary for his kicks.

Baxter will be defending his title against Jiangtao Dong (China) in the International ‘Champion of Champions’ MuayThai fight night which will be held June 20, 2008 starting 9pm local time in Jamaica.  Hailed as the greatest fight card in MuayThai history, this non-stop action pact event will be available LIVE on pay per view on www.istreamyoustream.com for an advance purchase price of $14.95.   There will be 9 World Title Fights at stake.  9 Countries participating, all on one night.  Proceeds from this history making event will be used to provide computers and establish technology learning centers in the primary schools in Jamaica through CCGI Foundation.  CCGI’s mission is to eventually equip all the primary schools in Jamaica with computers.

Baxter is ready for this World Title Championship Fight.  He warns his opponent to be ready, because he will be.

When asked what words of wisdom he wants to impart, he doesn’t hesitate to share the words that he lives by, “The only limits you have are the ones you put on yourself”.
Here’s a little trivia, do you know who delivered the punch through the Sandman’s chest in Spider-man 3?  Yes, standing in for Tobey Maguire, the punch that took out the Sandman was delivered by Baxter Humby.
