DIRECTV Goes with Harris® NetVX™ Contribution HD Video Networking Solution

May 13, 2008 - PRLog -- Harris Corporation , an international communications and information technology company, is now delivering NetVX™ HD video networking equipment to DIRECTV, a leader in direct-to-home satellite TV services, for HD contribution encoding and transport, ultimately increasing HD program quality for DIRECTV.  

DIRECTV began using NetVX transport systems in 2005 for backhaul of local market programming content. The NetVX design allows a broadcaster to install multiple encoders in a single chassis with a common-signal output, further reducing equipment costs by providing an all-in-one device for encoding, multiplexing, and network adaptation.
