International Detroit Black Expo Presents the 2008 Buy Black Weekend

Economic, policy & entrepreneurship conference cultivates growth, development & economic synergy

May 7, 2008 - PRLog -- DETROIT – The International Detroit Black Expo (IDBE) will host its 2nd Annual Buy Black Weekend in Detroit, June 6th – June 8th at Cobo Hall. This power packed event will feature a host of invaluable activities, including educational workshops, seminars and networking opportunities. The Weekend theme is, “There is Power in the Black Dollar.”

While providing the solution to Detroit’s economic woes, Buy Black Weekend II, seeks to uplift minorities who are overcome with financial distress and empower them with tools for entrepreneurial success. In addition to focusing on enhancing the quality of life for metro Detroiters, the Expo offers key opportunities for Fortune 500 companies that are interested in diversifying their portfolios and building a relationship with the African American consumer.

“Now more than ever African Americans are considering leaving an unstable corporate environment to seek entrepreneurial ambitions, which could lead to a more independent, stable and rewarding lifestyle by taking their expertise and professional experience to provide for the wants and needs of the black community,” said Ken Harris, IDBE Founder & CEO.

The weekend activities include an invigorating mixture of education, entertainment and networking. In keeping with the spirit of African American empowerment, an impressive line-up of renowned speakers and presenters will assist, uplift and stimulate an estimated 70,000 attendees. Anticipated to be even bigger than last year’s successful turnout, Buy Black Weekend II is the ultimate experience for anyone in search of economic freedom, networking opportunities and access to the global marketplace.
