Misleading Articles in Gulfnews and Gulf-daily as result of scrupulous plot by UAE Consul General

April 26, 2008 - PRLog -- The Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Hong Kong wishes to address, without prejudice, surprisingly irresponsible and misleading Articles featured in Gulfnews and the Gulf-daily newspapers.

The Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ARABCCI) was established in 2006 as a non-profit organization in accordance with the Hong Kong Societies Ordinance, independent of any Government with the sole purpose of promoting commercial ties between Hong Kong, China and the Arab World.

The Arab Chamber has and continues to strive and exhaust every effort to assist, support and protect the interests of its members. To that end, Lord Edwin E. Hitti and the Chamber had been made aware, on numerous occasions, of suspicious practices, internal irregularities and improprieties by the UAE consul General Saeed Hamad Al-Junaibi in Hong Kong.

Thus said, in fall of 2007, two Chamber members brought forth, with great outrage, their subjection to certain inconsistent UAE Consular imposed procedures and levies. Hence prompting on our part immediate action and address of fully documented letters of concern to the Beijing UAE Embassy and subsequently to the respective United Arab Emirates Government Ministries of Finance and Foreign Affairs, requesting immediate intervention.  

We believe this is the real reason behind the defamatory campaign and cohesive hostile initiatives of the UAE Consul General Saeed Hamad Al-Junaibi.

It is the Arab Chamber’s mission as a Hong Kong Society to promote trade and commerce among Arab, Hong Kong and China business communities; not to represent Arab States or to seek approval from their representatives, but to act cooperatively, represent and safeguard the interests of members throughout the Arab World, Hong Kong and China

Thereby, we are confident that your good judgment would concur that the prevailing message and derived allegations conveyed by these incorrect articles are utterly inconsistent and completely dismissible in content and context.
