'Insomnia Cafe' podcast returns for second season on iTunes.

April 17, 2008 - PRLog -- 'Insomnia Cafe' - the popular iTunes based free music and poetry podcast from Locus Ceruleus Media has returned for its second season.

Compiled and hosted by writer Michael E. since December 2006, the latest installment debuts a number of changes in both the style and presentation of the show. Extended to an hour-long format, the first of the new monthly episodes includes an exclusive interview with critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Eilen Jewell, alongside new music from Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Lisa Loeb, Tom Waits and others.

According to Michael, "the show is branching out for our second season - and our growing reputation as a free, convenient way to experience new music has allowed us to do so."

"The show has always had a no frills, back to basics approach. The original idea was to put out a show that was basically a great mixtape - a diverse, easily accessible selection of songs that would encourage listeners to explore these artists for themselves."

"I know a lot of people who basically haven't bought an album in the last decade or so. They think music in general is suffering from some sort of creative drought. It's understandable, because every time they turn on the TV or a top 40 station, all they hear is disposable, forgettable fluff. Hopefully when people check out 'Insomnia Cafe' they can hear that there's a lot going on below the surface."
