Feb. 14, 2008 - PRLog -- ULI Atlanta’s Urban Marketplace served a place of networking, learning and deal making for developers, financers and leaders of Atlanta’s mixed use, mixed income growth. Panels of experts, project analyses by decision makers, and roundtable discussions provided attendees an opportunity to be part of the action. Attendance at the event was higher than ever, with 660 in attendance, an increase of over 50 percent compared to previous years.

“Urban Marketplace proved to be an incredibly valuable resource for me personally, and I have heard since the conclusion of the event that it was a valuable resource for many attendees,” said Scott Boze, Urban Marketplace Committee Chairman. “The event’s success was a testament to the hard work that our organizing committee put into the planning of the event.”

The program began with a keynote presentation on affordable housing by Ron Terwilliger, Chairman and CEO of Trammel Crow Residential, the largest developer of multi-family housing in the United States. A panel of key industry players discussed the economic outlook for the Atlanta housing market in 2008 and ways combine retail, residential and workforce components in communities. The panel, moderated by Douglas A. Blackmon of the Wallstreet Journal, included Christopher Cassidy of Branch Properties, Egbert L.J. Perry of The Integral Group, George Rohrig of The Cartel Group and Ronald V. Stang, Jr. of Stevens, Wilkinson, Stang and Newdow. Roundtable discussions put attendees face-to-face with industry experts to ask questions and share information on a variety of topics. ULI members served as a resource panel to local governments that want to promote workforce housing investment opportunities to developers through pitch sessions where public sector professionals received practical advice about working with private sector investors and developers.
