Resign! CCR tells Kibaki in the wake of MP Mugabe Were’ AssassinationParty of National Unity leaders are the number one suspects
In view of this, we renew our call for the establishment of a provisional interim government in Kenya, whose main aim is to re-establish law and order, spearhead constitutional reforms and fresh elections. There is obviously a power vacuum in Nairobi. The first and most primary task of any government is to protect the lives of all citizens under its jurisdiction There can be no excuse for the murder of Kenyans to continue unless the illegal regime is either implicitly involved or lacks the will or capacity or both, to protect lives of citizens. The Kibaki regime is directly or indirectly responsible for the murder of MP Mugabe Were. If the regime is involved directly, it should resign, and pave way for an interim government to protect Kenyans from their madness. On the hand if they were not involved, then they are equally responsible through dereliction of duty, wilful incompetence, and gross world-class ineptness. In which case they should do Kenyans a favour, and resign right away. # # # CCR-Kenya brings together organizations and individuals who believe that for Kenya to truly attain genuine democratic liberation, comprehensive constitutional reforms must be completed before any elections. Formed in March 2006, the coalition works to raise awareness to bring pressure on the ruling class to allow Kenyans to reform the constitution before another election. Under the banner “No Reforms, No Elections”, CCR-Kenya and affiliate organizations boycotted the 2007 general elections to highlight the danger of holding elections under the current constitution.
