Maximum individuality in racking

Customised Pallet Racking For Photovoltaic Supplier Dricosol
By: OHRA Regalanlagen GmbH

KERPEN, Germany - June 15, 2026 - PRLog -- DricoSol, a provider of photovoltaic solutions, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises, has reorganised its warehouse. A wide variety of components and parts required for photovoltaic systems are now stored on OHRA pallet racks, rather than on the ground or in block storage as was previously the case. The racks were specially adapted to DricoSol's requirements. Both the shelf heights and the compartment widths, and even the compartment depths, were customised. This allows the solar system supplier to make the best possible use of every centimetre in the warehouse.
This was particularly important as the warehouse is located in a non-traditional setting. a three-storey commercial property with a timber-frame construction that houses the DricoSol headquarters in Reichenau on Lake Constance. From there, installers, solar technicians and end customers are supplied with all the components they need for a solar power system. from the substructure and solar modules to inverters and cabling to charging stations and battery modules. A separate area was cordoned off as a hazardous materials storage facility for these items.
Due to the extremely positive development of the photovoltaic systems business in recent years, there is a shortage of space in the existing warehouse. In addition, floor and block storage made it difficult to access individual items. DricoSol therefore decided to increase it's storage capacity with pallet racking and optimise its use of space.
"Due to the small area and the extremely high number of different pallet dimensions, each shelf had to be designed individually", says Sascha Drissler, managing director and owner of DricoSol. It was also important to him to be able to adapt the shelves to new requirements at any time. "OHRA took a great deal of time during the acquisition process to capture every detail accurately", Drissler continues. From the outset, the characteristics of the building, such as doors and support beams, were taken into account, as were the different dimensions and weights of the stored items. As the DricoSol company building is located in an earthquake zone, various possible earthquake load cases had to be taken into account in the racking design.
In total, OHRA installed five pallet racks with shelf loads between 2.7 and 3 tonnes in the DricoSol warehouse. The shelf compartments are equipped with mesh shelves, allowing for flexible storage of a wide variety of items, packaging and storage aids. None of the racks are the same. "Nevertheless, this extremely high-quality system is also an attractive solution in terms of price", says Sascha Drissler. "In addition, by mounting the supports in a 100-millimetre grid, the frame gives us the flexibility to make adjustments in the future."
