PadHer Makes History, Earns Third Global Recognition as One of the Top Education Solutions Globally

PadHer has been named one of the world's most impactful education innovations by HundrED for the third time, making it the only Nigerian-born initiative to earn this honor repeatedly.

LAGOS, Nigeria - Nov. 20, 2025 - PRLog -- PadHer, the menstrual health education initiative founded in Nigeria by social entrepreneur Chika Nwaogu, has been named one of the world's 100 most impactful and scalable innovations in education by HundrED for the third time.

This recognition places PadHer among a very small group of innovations globally to earn the honour repeatedly, and the only Nigerian-born initiative to achieve this milestone. HundrED's Global Collection highlights leading solutions improving education worldwide, and PadHer's inclusion for the third time reflects its growing influence and consistent impact across Africa.

$140,000 to Reach 3,500 Girls in Ghana

PadHer recently received $140,000 in funding to impact 3,500 schoolgirls in Ghana with menstrual health education, comic-based learning, and access to reusable sanitary products.

In its first phase, PadHer worked with Girls Club Ghana to reach 1,750 girls in the Volta Region, delivering fun, stigma-free workshops that equipped them with practical knowledge and tools to manage their periods with confidence. This achievement completes half of PadHer's Ghana target.

Next Phase: Ahafo and Eastern Regions

With the Volta phase completed, PadHer is preparing to reach another 1,750 girls in the Ahafo and Eastern Regions. This expansion aligns with the funder's focus on supporting cocoa-growing communities, where girls continue to face menstrual stigma and limited access to reliable information.

PadHer will maintain its partnership with Girls Club Ghana and will introduce a new implementation partner in the Ahafo Region to support deeper community engagement.

Transforming Menstrual Education Across Africa

Using comic books, animations, and interactive learning tools, PadHer teaches girls about menstrual health, puberty, and SRHR in a relatable and stigma-free way. The initiative has already empowered over 100,000 girls across Africa, helping them stay in school, build self-esteem, and challenge harmful myths surrounding menstruation.

Reflecting on PadHer's third recognition, Nwaogu said, "This shows that African innovations can lead global change. Every girl we reach is a girl who no longer has to skip school or doubt her worth because of her period."

PadHer's Director of Operations and Partnerships, Thelma Ahamba, added, "Our work in Ghana is possible because we collaborate with trusted grassroots organisations. Our curriculum and local partners ensure that the lessons continue long after the workshops end."

A Growing Global Reputation

Alongside its three HundrED recognitions, PadHer is also listed on the EduEvidence Global EdTech Evidence List, further strengthening its position as one of Africa's most trusted and evidence-aligned education solutions.

With expanding partnerships and a growing presence in Africa, PadHer continues to challenge menstrual stigma and ensure more African girls learn and thrive.
