Nova Classical STEM Academy first school to offer a Classical, STEM integrated education model

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Nov. 19, 2025 - PRLog -- Nova Classical STEM Academy has announced it is now accepting applications for its inaugural 2026–27 school year. Opening in August 2026 in Fort Myers, Nova is making history as the first school in the world to fully integrate a Classical education framework with a STEM-enriched, project-based learning model within a tuition-free public charter school environment. In its first year, Nova will enroll students in grades K–7 and will expand annually to serve grades K–12.

"Since opening our first Orlando Science School in 2008, we have committed ourselves to meaningful educational innovation," said Dr. Yalcin Akin, founder of Orlando Science School System and president of Discovery Science Schools. "Nova Classical STEM Academy is a first-of-its-kind school. Nowhere else in the world has a Classical curriculum been purposefully designed, from the ground up, to be integrated with STEM and hands-on exploration in this way. Nova's Classical STEM model is designed to elevate students of all abilities, with additional challenge pathways for gifted and advanced learners.

The 73,000-square-foot campus at 7101 Banway Road in Fort Myers will feature:

• STEM laboratories
• Robotics and competitive math resources
• Science Olympiad and Model UN programming
• A large outdoor playground and a soccer field

Enrollment Information
