Bigpond email configuration problem in outlook 365 and apple mac mail

BRISBANE, Australia - Oct. 6, 2025 - PRLog -- Telstra consumers prefer to use Bigpond mail not because it provides Telstra but also for other reasons like its safe and secure keep users private and easy to access by other mail app like outlook and mac mail. Today will discuss about how to setup in outlook and mac mail.

A.  Follow the instruction to setup Bigpond mail in mac mail app.

1.  Open mac mail application in apple computer

2.  Click mail and setting option at top of the mac screen

3.  Select accounts option

4.  Click other

5.  Click Add new mail account

6.  Type Name, Bigpond mail address and password and description Bigpond

7.  Select server settings Imap

• Imap.telstra.com
• Port Number 993
• Security Type SSL/TLS

Smtp Settings for outgoing

• Smtp.telstra.com
• Port number: 465
• Authentication must require
• Click save or done

Open Mac mail application and check Bigpond mail are starting coming and able to send.

B.  Follow the instruction to setup Bigpond mail in outlook 365

1.  Open outlook application in device

2.  Click on file option at top left corner

3.  Go to more info

4.  Now choose server setting you want IMAP or POP

• Setting for Bigpond Imap in outlook 365

Incoming Server name: Imap.telstra.com

Port number :993

Security type: SSL/TLS

• Setting for Bigpond Smtp in outlook

Outgoing Server name: Smtp.telstra.com

Port Number: 465 recommended or 587

• Settings for Bigpond POP in Outlook 365

Incoming Server name: Pop.telstra.com

Port Number: 995

Security Type: SSL/TLS

• Setting for Bigpond Smtp in outlook 365

Outgoing Server name: Smtp.telstra.com

Port Number: 465 recommended or 587

Security Star/TLS

Authentication required If your Bigpond mail account username or password rejected by outlook or mac mail app than consult with Bigpond Customer Care number.
