NAMTECH Launches Industry-Aligned Robotics Program to Bridge Skill Gaps in Advanced Manufacturing

GANDHINAGAR, India - Aug. 22, 2025 - PRLog -- The New Age Makers Institute of Technology (NAMTECH), an education initiative of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India, has announced the launch of a new Robotics Program designed to prepare engineers and technologists for the realities of advanced manufacturing.

The program is being introduced at a time when industries worldwide are grappling with skill shortages in robotics, automation, and Industry 4.0 technologies. While companies are investing heavily in smart factories, finding professionals who can integrate robotics with data systems, AI, and automation remains a challenge. NAMTECH's offering aims to close that gap by providing a curriculum rooted in real-world applications.

"We spoke extensively with industry leaders before designing this program," said a NAMTECH spokesperson. "They all told us the same thing—graduates need more hands-on exposure, more cross-disciplinary skills, and the ability to adapt to new technologies quickly. This program is built with that feedback at its core."

What the Program Offers?

The Robotics Program will combine classroom learning with practical projects and lab sessions. Students will work on robotic arms, collaborative robots (cobots), and industrial automation systems used by global manufacturers. Beyond hardware, the curriculum covers programming, integration with AI and IoT platforms, and the role of robotics in sustainable manufacturing.

Partnerships with industry partners form a cornerstone of the initiative. Students will gain access to case studies, live projects, and potential internships that mirror the demands of today's factories. NAMTECH is also aligning its coursework with international standards, giving graduates a competitive edge not only in India but also in global markets.

Addressing the Talent Shortage

The timing of this launch is significant. According to recent industry reports, demand for robotics engineers and automation specialists is projected to grow at double-digit rates over the next decade. Companies in automotive, electronics, logistics, and healthcare are expanding their automation efforts, yet the pipeline of skilled professionals isn't keeping up.

By embedding industry partnerships into the structure of the program, NAMTECH hopes to accelerate the readiness of graduates. "We want students to walk into a plant or a lab on day one and feel confident about contributing," added the spokesperson.

Building for the Future

This announcement builds on NAMTECH's broader mission: to create an Industry 4.0-ready workforce for India and beyond. By offering programs that merge academic depth with practical exposure, the institute aims to shape engineers who are not only employable but capable of leading innovation in advanced manufacturing.

Enrollment for the Robotics Program opens this semester, with the first batch of students expected to begin in August, 2025.
