| ![]() Empowher India Hosts Taluka-Level Workshop in Alibag Block to Strengthen Life Skills EducationBy: empowHER Foundation The workshop was chaired by Mr. Sunil Gavali, Block Education Officer, who commended Empowher India's work with adolescents. He said, "Teenagers often lack awareness about their behavior and the changes they experience at this age. Empowher India provides much-needed knowledge that equips children to make informed choices for their future. Importantly, the program educates both boys and girls on menstruation, safe and unsafe touches, and essential life skills. This helps reduce gender bias and discrimination, ultimately benefiting society as a whole. We will extend our full cooperation to Empowher India to implement this program effectively in all schools across Alibag." Mrs. Swati Bhushan, Headmistress of Alibag Municipality Marathi School No. 2, which was recognized as Best School, emphasized the program's positive impact. She noted, "Empowher India's sessions have guided our students on how to live in society, set goals, and understand safe and unsafe touch. One of our girls greatly benefited from these sessions in her educational journey. Children in grades six to eight, who often hesitate to talk about body changes, have started discussing these issues openly with trainers, especially Shweta Madam, without embarrassment." Adding her perspective, Mrs. Anupama Chavarkar, Teacher at Sudhagad Education Society School, Kurul, said, "The program has been transformative for our students, improving their knowledge on diet, menstruation, stress management, and time management. A case at our school highlighted the impact—girls were facing harassment but never reported it. After attending the sessions on safe and unsafe touch, they felt empowered to speak up. Since then, the Damini team has been actively patrolling our school and surrounding area." The workshop concluded with strong support from education officials and school leaders for the continued implementation of Empowher India's Life Skills Program in Alibag.
