Follow on Google News | PacketLight Networks Introduces High Port Count ROADMBy: PacketLight The ROADM leverages advanced next generation wavelength-selective switch technology in a 1U low power consumption foot print. The device supports colorless, directionless, and Flex Grid, and has integrated optical amplifiers and optical channel monitoring (OCM), which enables the mix of 50/75/100/150Ghz over the same fiber. These future-proof the network by supporting any future flex grid signal bandwidth over the same fiber, and maximizes fiber utilization by enabling the transport of a mix of capacities – from 100G to 800G and the emerging 1.6T – over the same fiber. Recommended applications:
The PL-1000GRO ROADM dynamically adds or drops selected wavelengths at any network node, enabling seamless control over node capacity. The device automatically equalizes and balances the power of the added and bypassed wavelengths. "At PacketLight, we are dedicated to empowering optical fiber networks with streamlined solutions," said Koby Reshef, CEO of PacketLight. "This ROADM enables to build a future-proof optical network that supports emerging high wavelength capacities. The device reduces operational costs while enhancing performance, ensuring businesses stay ahead with smarter, scalable networks. This innovation reflects our commitment to advancing connectivity and delivering lasting value to our customers." The 32 ports of the ROADM add/drop colorless wavelengths of different bandwidths, as configured by the user. Management is facilitated through PacketLight's LightWatch NMS platform, which offers advanced functionalities such as A-to-Z provisioning of wavelengths and creation of protection paths and restoration protection functionality.
