Finding Home By Maggie Grinnell

BRUSSELS - May 17, 2024 - PRLog -- Finding home is a story about an orphan girl, a squirrel and a cat that get lost during a storm. They didn't know what home feels like until after they met.

Maggie Grinnell is the author of three children's books: David and Rusty's Pirate Adventure, Isabella and Penelope, The Ketchup Bottle and the Takeover. But this book hits close to home because Maggie was also an adopted child.

Excerpt:

Buggy, a big eyed squirrel, is awakened from his nap when the oak tree shakes. At first he thinks it is an earthquake but realizes it is the boom of thunder that disturbs his slumber.

As Buggy scurries down the massive oak tree with his bushy tail sticking up in the air, heglances around for his family.

"Mom, Dad" he utters loud enough for the entire park to hear. No one answers. He realizes he is all alone.

Irish Mittens, a green eyed orange tabby with white paws is an indoor cat, never been outside but is curious of what is beyond the door.

Thunder shakes the brownstone, the rain pelts the windows with water, and the howling wind bursts open the front door with all of its might. Irish sticks his head out the front door and then his paws. He doesn't mind the wetness or the roar of the window.
