PRLog -- Hookahville – the Midwest's longest-running music festival – is set to return to Legend Valley Concert Venue in Thornville, Ohio, from May 31 - June 1, 2024, with Early Bird entry beginning on Thursday, May 30. This spring's iteration is the 30th anniversary of the inaugural Hookahville, which was a one-day affair on May 28, 1994, at The Farm in Fredericktown, Ohio.
The 1994 Hookahville set the stage for what was to become a festival staple for three decades. Legendary acts such as Bob Weir and Ratdog, Billy Strings, Blues Traveler, Rusted Root, Les Claypool, Government Mule, and countless others have shared the Hookahville stage over the years, leading to 30 years of unforgettable collaborations.
In addition to the early-bird Ekoostik Floyd set on May 30, this spring's lineup features four additional sets by host band ekoostik hookah – including a complete performance of hookah's 1994
Dubbabuddah album – along with the Hookahville debut of
Chicken Wire Empire, a not-to-be-missed contemporary bluegrass quintet from Milwaukee. Fans will also be treated to a set from the Louisville-based
Mama Said String Band, who were honored with Album of the Year and Bluegrass Album of the Year at the Lexington Music Awards, and many other nationally recognized acts.
Set at the idyllic Legend Valley – with its 200+ acres of rolling hills, scenic vistas, and life-sized dinosaurs sprinkled throughout – the 30th anniversary of Hookahville also features a wide variety of food trucks, an array of craft and art vendors, and live artistry on display throughout the weekend.
