New Warmth Bank opens at Anita Stone Court

BIRMINGHAM, U.K. - Dec. 20, 2023 - PRLog -- BCOP are delighted to announce a new 'Warmth Bank' for older people in Annie's Bistro at Anita Stone Court, on Moor Green Lane. This will run between 10.30am and 2.30pm on weekdays until and 8^th March 2024. We're also giving away 100 electric blankets to keep older people warm at home.

"Older people who may be concerned about heating their homes will be welcomed into the Bistro, as a warm, safe place to meet others" says Helen Gore, CEO at BCOP. "We will be giving away 100 free electric blankets, as this is a very cheap way to stay warm during winter months. If you can't afford to heat your whole home, at least be warm in bed!"

People will be welcomed into the Bistro lounge by our friendly team and offered a cup of tea or coffee. They'll be a chance to chat to other people and make new friends during the sessions.

Keeping warm in winter is especially important as we get older as changes to our bodies often mean cold weather and winter bugs affect us more than they used to.

Anyone attending the BCOP warmth bank will be asked to provide contact details and to score their well-being at the end of the project, so that we know how successful the warmth bank has been this year.

BCOP has also committed to giving away 100 electric blankets to help older people stay warm and well this winter. Octopus Energy calculated that over 12 weeks, using an electric blanket for four hours per day instead of turning up the heating, could save customers up to 19% or £300 per year from their energy bills.
