First Presbyterian Church of River Forest Announces 2023 Christmas Concert

RIVER FOREST, Ill. - Dec. 6, 2023 - PRLog -- The First Presbyterian Church of River Forest today announced its 2023 Christmas concert, Emmanuel: God Is With Us. The concert will be held on Sunday, December 17 at 4:00 pm at the church, located at 7551 Quick Avenue in River Forest. First Pres River Forest is wheelchair and hearing accessible. No ticket required; a freewill offering will be taken.

"The music selected for this concert is from Handel's Messiah, as well as by contemporary composers Dan Forrest, Elaine Hagenberg, Craig Courtney, and Joel Raney," said Pastor Paul Detterman. "There will be something for everyone, including singing of your favorite Christmas carols."

"First Pres is honored to provide this inspiring musical gift to the community," said Pastor Donna Marsh. "This year, in a world marked by so much division and war, First Pres offers you and your loved ones a beautiful reminder of God's promise that he is, in fact, God with us through it all."

The concert is under the direction of Dr. M. Jane Holstein, director of music ministries at First Pres, the concert will feature the First Pres Choir, Chamber Orchestra with special guest artists Kaia String Quartet (kaiastringquartet.com (http://www.kaiastringquartet.com/)).
