Divas In Defense receives THRIVE Thomasville Grant from the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta

ATLANTA - Aug. 14, 2023 - PRLog -- Divas In Defense, a globally renowned organization committed to empowering individuals with self-defense skills, has been named a recipient of the prestigious THRIVE Thomasville Grant. The grant is distributed by the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta and aims to support initiatives focused on the Historical communities, including Thomasville Heights, Forest Cove, & Norwood Manor.

Headquartered in Georgia, Divas In Defense has been awarded $5,000 to provide empowerment & safety training to district residents. The organization will offer free women's self-defense classes and distribute much-needed home safety kits.

The classes, conducted by certified instructors will cater to teenage girls and women. Participants will gain life-saving skills, including basic kicks and strikes, as well as essential awareness and prevention strategies to safeguard themselves from potentially dangerous situations.

The kits will include door stopper alarms, pepper spray, keychain defense weapon, and domicile safety tips. Video training will be provided for each item. These community efforts focus on prevention while equipping residents with the knowledge to protect their loved ones.
