Musk quipped that xAI's mission statement would be "what the hell is really going on?" in order to get a better knowledge of the cosmos.

Musk announced the launch of xAI on Wednesday, accusing businesses such as OpenAI and Google of researching artificial intelligence without addressing the hazards to humanity.

Google and OpenAI did not reply to requests for comment.

He said that xAI's goal would be to create a "good AGI" as an alternative to Microsoft, Google, and OpenAI. AGI is an abbreviation for artificial general intelligence, and it refers to AI that can solve problems in the same way as humans can.

Musk said xAI will work closely with his other firms, Twitter and Tesla (TSLA.O), during the Spaces session, which was delayed because Twitter wanted to "tweak the algorithm" to push the conversation to more people.

The startup will train its AI models using public tweets and may collaborate with Tesla on AI software.

According to Musk, such a partnership would be of "mutual benefit" and may hasten Tesla's development on self-driving capabilities.
