PRLog -- Economically vulnerable households are increasingly facing restricted access to basic necessities as inflation is battering the economy. Here, in Southwest Florida, we are feeling the squeeze even more. According to reports from late 2022, "inflation is worse in Florida cities than most others in the US."
As inflation persists, consumers are starting to adopt more value-conscious shopping behaviors. A growing number of people are buying used clothing, shoes and accessories. In fact, according to a recent report, sales of secondhand merchandise jumped 28% in 2022 from the previous year. For Southwest Floridians trying to beat rising prices, Goodwill offers a helpful solution.
In addition to the cost-savings of secondhand shopping, Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida has added two major sales for the month of May. On Saturday, May 20
th, Goodwill SWFL VIP Perk members can get 50% off their purchases of donated goods at all regular retail stores, 25% off donated at the two
blue boutiques, and 25% off at the Goodwill Outlet at 5100 Tice Street in Fort Myers. Discounts will be applied upon using the customer's VIP number at checkout. There is no cost to join the Goodwill SWFL VIP Perk program. Shoppers can sign up for free at
www.GoodwillPerks.com.
This same sale will be offered on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29
th, for all shoppers (with or without VIP Perk status), as part of their Memorial Day celebrations.
Every purchase helps fund community programs and services to help people in Southwest Florida gain the skills or assistance necessary to obtain employment and provide for their families. Ninety cents of every dollar raised by Goodwill SWFL retail stores goes directly into mission services.
Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida is committed to serving people with disabilities and disadvantages by offering life-changing opportunities to achieve independence. For information on how Goodwill SWFL positively impacts the community, visit
