ABOUT RALPH LEROY
From fashion to chocolate, there was only one step. RALPH LEROY first exhibited in 2009 at the invitation of the Montreal Chocolate Show, where he produced a fashion show with chocolate accessories annually until 2013. Upon his return to Haiti, this aesthetic inspiration will become a chocolate passion: in its terroir, that of cocoa, chocolate is obvious, RALPH LEROY, wants and will make chocolate. The first selection of cocoa beans, first roasting: his first production was unveiled successfully at the Gourmet Village of Goûts et Saveurs, in Sept 2016.
According to RALPH LEROY, the Chocolate Master: "having taste and talent is not enough to satisfy one's ambitions." With better knowledge, he thought he could transform the quality of chocolate produced in Haiti and increase the added value for cocoa producers. RALPH LEROY spent time in Europe, the United States, Canada, and the Dominican Republic to learn trade techniques and in Trinidad to enhance his production from "bean to bar." He continues to develop recipes that highlight Haiti's cocoa and the homeland's exotic fruits.
His 2020 goal was to give back the cocoa's nobility to Haiti. Now, the chocolate artist continues to develop a new business concept in Haiti to work with planters to grow better and select cocoa as part of his social entrepreneurship by acquiring a virgin and foreign market for his products.
"MAKAYA CHOCOLAT from Haiti is part of the finest cocoa and ranks amongst the most prized on the world market," says Mr. Leroy. He has created a chocolate laboratory in the northern region, creating a better value for this commodity and praising its nutritional value around the world. Follow https://www.instagram.com/
