Follow on Google News | Canada's District 86 of Toastmasters International has leadership team from several countriesBy: District 86, Toastmasters Inernational Toastmasters' experiential learning program is a self-paced, cost-effective program that provides an ongoing supportive and positive learning environment through online, hybrid, and in-person meetings of Toastmasters clubs around the world. Members working through the Toastmasters program develop their confidence, communication, and leadership skills. "The district vision is to engage members in a supportive learning environment to maximize their potential," Deridor said. Collier enjoys supporting members through the Toastmasters Program to achieve their personal and professional goals. She joined Toastmasters in 2012 and is a member of several Toastmasters clubs including Grimsby, GMR, Steeltown, Valley Town Toastmasters. Collier earned the Distinguished Toastmaster designation (DTM), the highest achievement a Toastmaster can attain in the organization in 2018. Through her Toastmasters journey, she has served the district as an Area and Division Director, Club Growth Director, and Program Quality Director. She also served as a Pathways Ambassador supporting members of the Toastmasters International Education program. In 2018, Deridor was awarded the District 86 Club Coach of the Year award. Immediate past District Director Myrna Barthe DTM said: "Our current District Director, Deridor Collier, DTM has had her hands on the pulse of District 86 since she took office July 1, 2022. She has been very diligent in ensuring that the workings of the District benefit all its members and the Toastmasters organization at large. Not only is she a team player, Deridor is also encouraging, stalwart, empathetic, tenacious, and kind. Deridor has been strategic and innovative in introducing the annual ACE Award which recognizes a club that excels in the Toastmasters program." Assisting Deridor at District 86 in 2022-2023 are Nancy Movrin, Program Quality Director, and Club Growth Director Jayapriya Muthukumar. "District 86 Officers and Club Officers work together to support, recognize and accelerate club excellence all through the Toastmasters year. Member and club success is a team sport," Deridor concludes.
