GREEN VALLEY, Md. - March 20, 2023 - PRLog -- Audrey Grabenstein, a devoted pet owner, is reaching out to the community for help. Her 9-month-old Ibizan Hound, Laszlo, has been diagnosed with osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) in his left shoulder joint. This condition causes chronic pain and lameness, and it is something Audrey and her family never expected to deal with, especially not with their young pup.

Laszlo is not just a pet to Audrey's family. He is a goofy, lovable, and loyal companion who has brought them immeasurable joy since the day they brought him home. When Laszlo injured his toe last fall, Audrey and her family did everything they could to help him heal. However, even after weeks of rest and pain medication, Laszlo remained lame. It was then that they discovered the underlying issue that has been causing him pain.

The emotional toll of seeing Laszlo suffer has been heartbreaking for Audrey's entire family. As pet owners, they know that animals cannot tell us when they are in pain or feeling unwell. They have already spent over $2,000 on imaging and diagnostics, and surgery is estimated to cost around $4,000. Rehabilitation will cost an additional $100-$200 per weekly visit for about 8 weeks. Audrey's family has applied for Care Credit cards, but they are still putting themselves into significant debt to help their beloved Laszlo make a full recovery.
