Nominations Open for the 2023 Aquila Polonica Article Prize

Prize Winner Will Be Announced This Fall at Convention in Philadelphia

LOS ANGELES - Feb. 27, 2023 - PRLog -- The nomination period is now open for the 2023 Aquila Polonica Article Prize.

The Aquila Polonica Article Prize is awarded every other year to the author of the best English-language scholarly article published (either online or in print form in a peer-reviewed academic journal) during the previous two years on any aspect of Polish studies. Administered by the Polish Studies Association ("PSA"), which appoints the independent judges, the award carries a $500 honorarium donated by Aquila Polonica Publishing.

Nominations and self-nominations should be sent to the prize committee by July 1, 2023. The winner will be announced at PSA's annual meeting to be held in conjunction with the Association for Slavic, Eurasian, and East European Studies Convention in Philadelphia this fall.

Please submit article nominations directly to all three members of the prize committee: Natalia Jarska (njarska@ihpan.edu.pl), Agata Tumiłowicz-Mazur (at1968@nyu.edu), and Robert Pyrah (rpyrah@brookes.ac.uk)

"We began funding the Aquila Polonica Article Prize in 2011, so 2023 is the seventh year this biennial prize will be awarded," said Aquila Polonica president Terry Tegnazian. "We are pleased to continue our sponsorship of this prize in support of scholarly research in Polish studies, and look forward to learning the committee's choice for this year's award."
