Los Angeles Talk Show Host Reunites with Inspiring Third Grade Teacher

LOS ANGELES - Feb. 13, 2023 - PRLog -- It is not everyday that we have the opportunity to reconnect with the person who changed our lives for the better, especially if we met that person at the young age of eight. But recently, the dynamic host of "Living Your Best Lifeā€¦" Rosalyn Kahn had a life-changing opportunity to reunite with her favorite third grade teacher.

The two women connected on Facebook just a couple of months ago. "I saw her profile and took a chance by messaging her," said Kahn. This exchange on Facebook soon led to an in-person visit when Rosalyn visited her hometown of San Diego where her teacher, Lilian Schaefer, still lives.

"At first, I was a little worried about seeing a former student, coming out of the Covid-19 pandemic," said Schaefer. Schaefer has remained in San Diego where she taught elementary school for 35 years. It is not often that she receives phone calls or visits from former students, especially ones going back to her early days of teaching. "You always wonder about what happened to former students, especially the ones that really stood out in your mind," Schaefer continued.

Schaefer's house was the first place Kahn visited on her recent trip to interview prominent figures in San Diego. She visited Schaefer at her home and had the opportunity to interview her as she would a talk show guest. "Being able to spend one-on-one time with her gave me the opportunity to really learn her story," Kahn said.

During the interview, Kahn asked her former teacher about her early life and what inspired her to get into the teaching profession. Schaefer told her former student about her life growing up on a farm in Missouri. She then talked about what it was like to live through World War II and the Great Depression. Schaefer talked about her move to California and how she entered into the teaching profession in the desirable coastal community of San Diego.

The meeting was a wonderful time for both women to reflect on their earlier days and how they made it to where they are today. "It's amazing that she went on to have her own talk show and become a teacher in the community colleges," Schaffer said, proudly of Kahn. "She was a good student and worked hard," she continued.

Kahn's interview with Schaffer will air this Tuesday, Feb. 14 on Chow Entertainment/KXLA (check local cable listings). The episode will also air on Roku, Amazon Fire, and Youtube at www.youtube.com/rosalynkahn. Form more information on "Living Your Best Life with Rosalyn Kahn," visit www.rosalynkahn.com.
