VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Jan. 20, 2023 - PRLog -- The current count in in the tens of thousands of unmarked graves but is expected to double in 2023. There are still countless properties to be searched across the country and this takes time. The use of ground penetrating radar to locate graves is a slow process and there is along of land to cover. Add to the mix of churches whom still own some properties and are not cooperating, it adds to the delays. Some properties are privately owned now as well, adding another hurdle to the process.

The Canadian government is involved but they have restricted powers on private land. They also have a level of liability in the historic abuses and cultural genocide perpetrated against the original stewards of the land we call Canada.

People from around the globe can keep the conversation going and ensure pressure does not let up on the church or governments until every marked grave is located and dealt with to the satisfaction of the Indigenous communities involved.

ProPics Canada Media Ltd also feels that this is not just a Canadian problem. With churches and governments around the globe running similar school systems over the last 100 plus years, searches should expand to include other countries.
