Fr. Rocco Puopolo SX to Receive NRVC Award

HOLLISTON, Mass. - Oct. 31, 2022 - PRLog -- The National Religious Vocation Conference (NRVC) will recognize Fr. Rocco Puopolo, SX, at its biennial convocation in Spokane, WA November 3-6. Along with Sister Michele Fisher, CSFN, Brother Chris Patiño, FSC., and Sister Donna Del Santo, SSJ, Fr. Rocco will receive the NRVC's Outstanding Recognition Award for their substantial contributions to vocation ministry as a whole.
Miguel Naranjo and the Catholic Legal Immigration Network (CLINIC) will receive the NRVC Harvest Award for their many years of service to hundreds of religious institutes and their members.
The convocation, whose theme is "Call Beyond Borders," will emphasize ways to assist the many U.S. young adults who annually examine the possibility of life as a Catholic sister/nun/brother/priest. Keynote speakers, Sister Barbara E. Reid, OP, Father Văn Thanh Nguyễn, SVD., and Father Ricky Manalo, CSP, will explore the topics of migration, boundaries, and Catholic identity as they relate to vocation ministry.
"The need for professional, trained ministers to accompany adults discerning a Catholic religious vocation continues," says Sister Deborah Borneman, SSCM, NRVC Director of Mission Integration. "Some 350 people a year enter formation for religious life, and we are ready to welcome them. Our convocation celebrates that and prepares us for this ministry."
