Portable Generators and Carbon Monoxide Hazards Discussed in New Online Video
The IAQ Video Network releases another educational production about an important environmental, health and safety (EHS) topic.
"Portable generators can help to keep critical appliances on, or to power a worksite, but they can also expose people to carbon monoxide (CO) if not properly used," said Paul Cochrane, President of Cochrane and Associates and the IAQ Video Network. "In fact, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reports that about 85 people die in the United States each year from carbon monoxide poisoning caused by gasoline-powered portable generators. We hope this new video reminds the public of carbon monoxide dangers and it also shares CPSC tips on how to safely use a generator."
This video was sponsored by a number of organizations and leading industry professionals that work to protect and enhance the public's health and safety. Sponsors include EMSL Analytical, LA Testing, Clark Seif Clark, Zimmetry Environmental, CTSI and Healthy Indoors Magazine to name a few.
