Marshall Barnes, R&D Eng Stands As Foil Against Proposed N. Carolina Science Education Policy

Despite the fact the N. Carolina Lt. Governor, Mark Robinson, has backed away from his former statements against teaching science in grades below 6th, internationally noted, advanced concept R&D engineer Marshall Barnes, says they disqualify him.

RALEIGH, N.C. - Aug. 25, 2022 - PRLog -- "In those grades, we don't need to be teaching social studies," he writes. "We don't need to be teaching science. We surely don't need to be talking about equity and social justice."

So says Lt. Governor Mark Robinson of N. Carolina whom is positioning himself for a run for Governor. However, upon hearing his statements, Marshall Barnes, R&D Eng of Ohio mocked Robinson and any ambitions he may have for higher office.

"Look, the simple fact such moronic and asinine statements even existed within his cranium, let alone to verbalize them, removes all doubt in my mind he is totally and completely unfit to hold any office besides maybe dog catcher in some very small village, and even that's questionable."

Marshall's cutting remarks come as no surprise - he is a recognized champion of STEM education, having won recognition for his leading work with all grades in communicating advanced and innovative physics concepts on everything from black holes to the nature of time. He was number one STEM professional for the National Lab Day 2 years in a row. In 2012 he was recognized for proving a statement by J. Robert Oppenheimer, father of the A bomb, that "there are children playing in the streets who could solve my top physics problems because they have modes of sensory perception I lost long ago". Marshall proved Oppenheimer correct by testing a math and science club of the OSU Wexner Medical Center consisting of 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders to see if they could detect a critical error in Stephen Hawking's Mad Scientist Paradox. The majority of the small group saw the mistake, having to do with multiply connected spaces within a wormhole time machine. Marshall was awarded a proclamation not only for proving the children could do it but seeing the mistake to begin with. The project contributed to his presentation at the 2014 100 Year Starship Symposium, sponsored by NASA and DARPA, on STEM and the Oppenheimer Strain: Why Children are ready for Space Education, page 177 of the published proceedings, now at Amazon.

Marshall's benefited from early exposure to science education, informal science and hobbies, from nursery school on through grade school.

"Early exposure to STEM provides inspiration for young people to pursue careers that will maintain U.S. leadership in the tech and science world. Obviously Lt. Governor Robinson was deficient in that area growing up or he wouldn't have suggested such a thing, or had a lick of common sense."
