Takeover Rumors Of Bruush Oral Care Inc. (BRSH)

EAST LONDON, U.K. - Aug. 19, 2022 - PRLog -- Rumors have begun to circulate that Colgate-Palmolive Company (NYSE; CL) is planning to acquire Bruush Oral Care Inc. (BRSH).

Although these are rumors at this point, they could come to fruition based solely on the fact that this highly competitive space is currently dominated by (NYSE; PHG) Sonicare and Procter & Gamble Co. (NYSE; PG) Oral-B.

Speculation leads one to believe that such a deal would make sense for Colgate. Colgate's oral care business is generating 50 percent of its top-line growth and, while it is expected that Colgate will continue to gain share, bolstering its foothold in the electric toothbrush market is seen as a positive, with the global electric toothbrush market projected to grow from USD 3.05 billion in 2021 to USD 3.99 billion in 2028, with a CAGR of 3.9%.

About Bruush Oral Care Inc.

Since its inception in 2018, Bruush claims to have grown its active subscriptions to about 28,000, with a customer base largely made up of people aged between 18 and 46 years old. In addition to its online store, Bruush also sells its products through Amazon and has drop-ship arrangements with third-party retailers such as Indigo, Harry Rosen, Macy's, and Urban Outfitters.

Toothbrush heads should be replaced every 12 weeks, which makes Bruush's subscription model that sends customers three new brush heads for $18 every six months a convenient way to stay on top of changing them.

In comparison, replacing brush heads for Sonicare products can cost up to $43 for a three-pack, and Procter & Gamble Co. (NYSE; PG) Oral-B replacement brush heads can cost up to $40 for a three-pack.
