Southeast Boy Productions & Anacostia Actor Anthony A Anderson Nominated For a Primetime Emmy Award

WASHINGTON - July 14, 2022 - PRLog -- Washington, DC native, Creator and Actor of 'Anacostia' Anthony A. Anderson has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Actor in a Short-Form Comedy or Drama Series. Anderson is the first to be nominated for a Daytime and Primetime Emmy for the exact role and has received two (2) previous Daytime Emmy nominations and a National Capital Area Emmy Award nomination this year. This being a tremendous milestone for the Actor as he is also the Creator, Executive Producer and Writer for 'Anacostia,' which has received six (6) Daytime Emmy nominations and one (1) win.

With complex relationships tested by romance, family, careers, drugs, religion and force majeure, the residents of historic Washington, D.C. neighborhood Anacostia struggle to survive. Though the odds are overwhelming, they remain hopeful, drawing strength from their complicated, yet resilient friendships.

'Anacostia' delivers intricate and provocative storylines which instantly engages its viewers making them a part of the story. Storylines portrayed in 'Anacostia' include alcoholism, domestic abuse, religion and homosexuality among others which has ignited much needed dialogue within various communities of viewers and has transcended all demographics.

Anderson portrays the lead character of Sean Williams-Grey who while still grieving from the death of his Husband Julian on their wedding day is blindsided by a secret by his best friend Mia (Tamieka Chavis).

Following the nominations, 'Black-ish' Actor Anthony Anderson hosted Jimmy Kimmel LIVE last night and stated his reaction to not being nominated for the show's final season but to add insult to injury an Actor named Anthony A. Anderson was nominated and 'The A stands for ain't me,' Anthony Anderson stated in his opening monologue.
