When it comes to community and people-led organizations that fight for truth, freedom, and equality in the United States, few have the history or trust of communities as the NAACP has earned. In exciting news, the NAACP Chicago Far-South Suburban Branch announced that it will hold its 43rd Anniversary Freedom Fund Luncheon on Sunday, June 12, 2022. The event will run between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the Glenwoodie Golf Course in Glenwood, Illinois.

The event will include a luncheon and will center around a very timely topic, "Fighting Forward: Saving Our Democracy!" The excitement surrounding this event, which is a longtime favorite of the community, is high. The keynote speaker will be Rev. Andrew D. Singleton Jr., the founding pastor of Victory Apostolic Church in Matteson, Illinois.

AC Williams will showcase a tribute to some of Motown's greatest music. We will also honor several outstanding community members, including Rev. Singleton, Destiny Watson CEO of the You Matter 2, and Senior Counsel Ami Gandhi of the Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights. This year, we created a special sponsorship package to allow you to support this important cause. You can purchase tickets for $75 to support this event.

"We are extremely enthusiastic about this year's Freedom Fund luncheon," commented branch president Gary Dingle. "The fight for voting rights, if lost, could be the end of democracy in America. So, we are educating and raising funds to make sure we protect the right to vote for all the communities in America, including minorities, who are often the first to suffer."
