High Sales of SUVs and Top Cars in April 2022

CHANDIGARH, India - May 13, 2022 - PRLog -- The sale of 25 best-selling cars makes them major contributors in April. Maruti Suzuki has ruled this segment with 11 models. Its seven models are in the top positions. Hyundai has four models, Tata has three, Kia India and Mahindra have two each, and Honda and Toyota each have one. According to sources, there are 10 hatchbacks, seven SUVs, five MUVs, two sedans, and one van among the top sellers.

There were overall sales of 219339 units, which is 4.02% more than April 2021. The Suzuki is currently the bestselling model. WagonR has sales of 17,766 units, five percent more since April 2021. Maruti Ertiga gained market share with YoY growth. There is a sale of 14,889 units.

The Tata Nexon was the third best-selling model in India in the past month. Its market share increased by 94 percent over the same month last year. It also became the top-selling SUV in India in April. The five-star NCAP-rated Tata Punch has sold 10,132 units.

There is an enormous demand for this car. Brezza sales increased by five percent, from 11220 units in YoY sales. Tata Punch, Hyundai i10 Grand, Maruti Swift, and Hyundai Creta SUVs were all up 2 percent from April last year.

Many new cars have also witnessed a dip in sales. 21% reduced the sales of the Hyundai i10 Grand in April 2022. We also saw this trend in the new Maruti Swift. It has reduced its sales by 51% from April of last year. Last month, sales of the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra Bolero, and Kia Seltos dipped. Maruti Celerio has launched a new generation model that helps in increasing sales. Tata Tiago (5,062 units), Hyundai i20 Elite (4,707 units), Mahindra XUV700 (4,494 units) and Honda (4,467 units), followed by Maruti XL6 MUV (4,366 units) added to the list.
