The Event Brought Together Over 100 Chamber Members, Business Owners, Community Leaders, and Elected Officials

MIAMI - April 25, 2022 - PRLog -- On April 13th, 2022, ChamberSOUTH, hosted a Conversation on Conservation luncheon panel that featured Senator Annette Taddeo, serving for Florida's 40th district; Irela Bague, Chief Bay Officer of Miami Dade County; Eric Eikenberg, CEO of the Everglades Foundation; and Emma Haydocy, Executive Director of the Florida Bay Forever with opening remarks presented by Congressman Carlos Gimenez, who represents Florida's 26th Congressional District. Attendees had the opportunity to network with over 100 ChamberSOUTH members, business owners, community leaders, and elected officials as guest speakers spoke on the importance of conservation and environmental impacts. Moderated by ChamberSOUTH's Chairman, Baldwyn English, guest speakers had the opportunity to learn about local environmental issues from the Everglades to Biscayne Bay as well as the legislation being discussed in Tallahassee and Washington. The unifying theme of the conversation was the importance of water with an emphasis on the Everglades being the source of water for one in four Floridians and Biscayne Bay being one of the major economic and tourism drivers in Miami-Dade County. Business owners and community leaders were encouraged to take action and make changes within their organizations through initiatives like Plastic Free 305 with Miami-Dade County. "Today's event was about education, advocacy, and engagement. Our guests had the opportunity to learn not only about the issues directly from the experts but also how they can get involved both on a business and personal level to help impact a positive change," said Brittnie Bassant, President and CEO of ChamberSOUTH. "We simply cannot take our local environmental ecosystems for granted."
