AJUSD Offers New Pre-Kindergarten Program at TLC for Four and Five Year Olds

APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. - April 22, 2022 - PRLog -- Apache Junction Unified School District announced the launch of KickStart to Kindergarten, a new early childhood academic program for four and five-year-old preschoolers that will be begin July 25 of the 2022-2023 school year. The program will be offered Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at The Early Learning Center, 1575 W. Southern Ave. in Apache Junction. The cost is $150 per week.

Registration is currently underway and can be completed online at https://www.ajusd.org/Page/13810. Applicants can call the TLC at 480-688-7570 to be a part of the Childfind Screening Event. Parents and guardians are encouraged to register applicants as early as possible as openings are limited.

"The KickStart to Kindergarten experience will add to our programming here at TLC and prepare our students for a bright future and a smooth transition into kindergarten. KickStart will have a built in curriculum which focuses on readiness and writing, language and literacy, and numbers and math. Instruction will be provided by a certified teacher and teacher's assistant. The curriculum fosters letter recognition and development, exposes students to rich literature fostering a love of reading and vocabulary, as well as teaching students counting, patterning, sequencing, problem-solving and even pre-geometry skills.

The curriculum also promotes hands-on learning and will allow students time to explore with real objects/manipulatives and test their ideas so skills become more meaningful. In addition to a pre-academic curriculum, preschoolers will be working on hands-on exploration, building friendships, and establishing classroom routines.
